Water Ban In Effect

water droplet

Due to the hot weather and little rain, reservoir levels have dropped. As of September 7, 2017 the Town of Viking is under a Water Demand Condition "C".

This means there is a ban on non-essential potable water use.

Condition "C" requires the suspension of all non-essential water use by terminating activities including but not limited to:

  • Watering lawns, gardens or trees
  • Washing driveways and sidewalks
  • Filling pools or fountains
  • Water main or hydrant flushing
  • Street sweeping
  • Construction activities requiring water
  • Firefighting training
  • Fleet vehicle washing (including buses)
  • Other non-essential water use (non-essential use is defined by all water not used for human consumption)

We understand the ban is inconvenient and appreciate your cooperation in adjusting your operations for the duration of the Water Management Condition. This restriction will help reduce demand on the water supply.
